GUIDELINES FOR OPERATING OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS FOR COVID-19 (English)

March 28, 2022

When dealing with mild covid cases at home, one can use an oxygen concentrator when the oxygen level (SPO2 level) is between 94-96%. It can be used for small durations when immediate access to oxygen cylinder is not possible.

What is an oxygen concentrator?

It is a machine that utilizes room air, concentrates its oxygen, and delivers it at a specific flow rate to a patient who has low oxygen levels in their blood.

For proper efficacy of oxygen concentrators, it is important to follow the maintenance steps as given in the link below. We recommend you to immediately contact a medical professional when SPO2 level drops below 93%.
