Nav Srishti is a Delhi-based NGO that works towards the empowerment of women and children from marginalized communities. A partner organization of #COVIDActionCollab (CAC), Nav Srishti has empowered over a lakh women and children during its 28-year-long journey.

Established by social activist Reena Banerjee in 1994, Nav Srishti focuses on the holistic development of women, children, and adolescent girls by preventing violence, abuse, and exploitation against them. Their programs are designed in such a way that the beneficiaries are empowered through livelihood support and skill-building opportunities. “Nav Srishti aims to build a society where there is no violence and discrimination against women and children, and we strive to ensure that they move forward in life,” said Banerjee, the Founder and Secretary of Nav Srishti.

Community Based Care & Support for COVID-19

Swasti works with the most poor and marginalized communities in India partnering them to make health and well-being real. To break the chain of COVID-19 transmission, it is imperative to provide the most marginalized with practical solutions to isolate and receive care through, Community Care Centers, Home quarantine kits and HelloSwasti

“Working with #COVIDActionCollab has opened up new opportunities for Nav Srishti in terms of grassroots problem-solving. The partnership enables us to provide different services under one umbrella to those who are in need and this has helped us in reaching more people from the vulnerable communities. This has also led to many people directly reaching out to us seeking many services and camps to avail themselves. Several banks have been keen on collaborating with us and last year, we even conducted a job fair,” shared Banerjee.

Under the collaboration with CAC, Nav Srishti also conducted a vaccination drive for those children from the Neb Sarai area of Delhi who were not enrolled in schools. “The team has also worked out ways to get those children admitted to schools afterward,” added Banerjee.

#COVIDActionCollab, in its journey of enabling community-based organizations like Nav Srishti, has touched the lives of 16 Million* people so far. It further aims to build more such partnerships to ensure that the vulnerable populations across the country are empowered and resilient to face adversities.
