SILENT HYPOXIA AND 6 MINUTE WALKING TEST

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has recommended the ‘6 Minute Walking Test’ to check for Hypoxia, in asymptomatic, mild and moderate patients of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) who are being treated at home.

 

What is Silent Hypoxia?

 

It is a condition where patients have extremely low levels of oxygen in the blood, and yet do not show signs of breathlessness. An animated audiogram that explains Silent Hypoxia and its effects along with a step-by-step process to undertake the test at home.
