Children’s Right to Development: The Case of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka

July 12, 2021

Founded in 2019, Child Rights Foundation (CRF) is a child-centric national non-profit organization, committed to fulfilment of Child Rights as enshrined in the Indian constitution and UNCRC (United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child). Our NGO – Child Rights Foundation India – is championing the cause of  Child Survival (Health), Child Development (Education & sports)  Child Protection ( preventing Abuse and exploitation) and Child Participation. This note will  present  data  about  children’s development in India, explore potential explanations  for the level  of children’s development and detail some  important central government initiatives  to  improve  child  development.  The  article will then present data on child development in three states – Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka – where the Child Development Foundation operates, and detail some state level initiatives that could explain the improvement in child development in some states.
